from the Ensenada Visitor's Guide

Known as the “Cinderella of the Pacific,” Ensenada is conveniently located 70 miles south of the International Border, a 1 1/2 hour drive from San Diego.  Its accessibility by land, sea and air plus its warm Mediterranean climate make the thriving seaport a popular tourist destination.  The well paved transpeninsular toll highway curving along the coastline from Tijuana to Ensenada is not only noted for its breathtaking ocean view but also for its modern safety features: roadside emergency call boxes and free motorist assistance provided by Mexico’s fleet of Green Angels.

As northern Baja California’s third largest city, Ensenada offers an endless array of shopping opportunities from native arts and crafts to European imports to freshly baked Mexican pastries.

The clear ocean waters both north and south of town permit a variety of sports like surfing, fishing, sailing, jet skiing, swimming and diving.  Land activities include horseback riding, hunting, tennis, golf, cycling and hiking.

Welcome to Ensenada where warmth and hospitality are more than just a tradition!
